Monster for Conceptart.org's creature of the week O__o the topic was arctic carnivore or some such. I'm ashamed to say I didn't put all that much effort into the design, cause I was really just goin for some toothy ugly beast bearing down on some poor guy. And I've tried to improve the background a bit since I entered this like a week or so ago, but I couldn't seem to get it right :P ah well. It was fun to draw anyway.

hope you like?

Now that is one bizarre looking creature. :D I wish I could give you some 'advanced critique', but I will leave that to others who actually know what they are talking about. ;P

Crikey. I didn't even notice the guy until I full sized this!
Your grasp of proportions and perspective is awsome.
:d
I dunno Gray. I really can't critique this. It's actually
really good.
If you really want me to whine about somthing, I'd say
that the monster's teeth look like it just eat somthing recently.
:P
Most beasts/monsters/animals' saliva keeps their teeth pretty
clean. XD
See? Now that's what you call a frivilous crit!
This pic is great. :]

Creepy, Gray. If I focus on teh creature and its victim, its very nice, but I keep wodnering to the BG which is lacking, imo.

But then it gives that in focus picture effect, whcih is pretty cool. Yunno, where the bg is fuzzy and junk?

I probably didn't mean that.

Daaag, yo. When I saw the thumbnail, I figured it'd by, like, rhino-sized. But... damn.

You come up with the craziest monster designs... >.> I love you.

You are so COOL. Like totally.

But seriously, awesome work, Liz. Your total-picture composition and quality are improving rapidly. Have you started putting your portfolio together for colleges yet? Most places let you submit on cd now, so submitting a lot of these would be no problem.
Let me know if you need any help or leg-work. I'll be home for a day or two at Thanksgiving.

Word!

Not really knowing shit about art I'm gonna try to give some constructive critiscism (sp?) anyway. I am not sure where the creature ends, and I don't think that it is a fade into the distance sort of thing. Somewhere past the 3rd set of limbs it gets sorta fuzzy. The last set of legs is distincively (sp again?) there and part of it, but there is that long tail thing? Or is it wake in the snow? That seems to go at least half way to the distant mountains. It seems to me that said mountains are at least a mile away. This this is obviously big, i mean HUGE, but I wonder if it is a mile long. Option B is that I'm retarded and seeing this all wrong. . . . certainly a possibility. Suffice to say wonderful job, I always enjoy your stuff and I hope that you continue.
